Ο κινηματογράφος αποτελεί την αποκαλούμενη έβδομη τέχνη. Είναι μορφή έκφρασης και καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας. Συνδυάζει τον ψυχαγωγικό με τον διδακτικό ρόλο καθώς δεν είναι λίγες οι φορές που μας πληροφορεί για γεγονότα που συνέβησαν στο παρελθόν, ιστορικά και μη.
